BEST In-laws EVER!!!

I know when I blog I usually write just about all the fun, interesting, and exciting things going on in life. Well, this blog is a little different. I just want to say how great my in-laws are. I really do have the best in-laws and family that anyone could ask for.

All within 72 hours I injured my tailbone (from working out for our Tough Mudder Event), got a cold (from the boys I nanny), cut half of my pointer finger nail off (an accident while shaving my legs), and our car broke down. It just seemed like EVERYTHING was going wrong. But, dear sweet Aunt Jolynn came in and rescued the day. She dropped everything and drove me to my doctor appointment and then bought Steve and me dinner. Not only did she help me when I really needed it, but she did it with a smile. She made me feel so loved and valued. I am so grateful for my family. I know that I always have people to count on!!! I can't imagine a greater blessing. I cherish the love that we all have for each other!!! Austin (Kyle's brother) who died suddenly last year said, "Family is more important than life." I think there is truth to that!

Tough Mudder here we come!!!!

Steve and I are taking a run on the WILD SIDE!!! We will be participating along with several other brave/crazy family members in Tough Mudder. The event takes place on June 25th! We are super excited and a little scared, but we know it will be fun. The event is an 8 mile long obstacle course. Some of the obstacles include climbing up muddy cliffs, scaling over 12 foot walls, army crawling under wire in mud, swimming in ice cold lakes, monkey bars, high pressure hoses, snow, waist deep mud, running up and down a ski slope carrying a log, running through live wire, and of course, fire. Doesn't that sound fun??? Anyone else want to join in on the fun? Check out this website for pictures and a more in depth description of the course!

Steve and I have already started to prepare for this thrill-seeking insane event! We still have a long way to go. I don't know if I will ever be tough enough to run through live wire...but we will find out in June!

A Day in Winter Wonderland!!!

Steve and I went skiing on Wednesday. It was such a beautiful day. The weather was nice and there was hardly anyone on the slopes. It is nice to live less than an hour away and enjoy the thrill of flying down the mountain side. I have to admit that I am still new to skiing so my flying down the mountain side is not as fast as most. I haven't mastered how to stop and so if I do go too fast the only way to stop is to fall. It is not always graceful, but it is fun. I stuck to mostly 'green' runs although I have to say I was proud of myself and did do one 'blue' run. Steve, being the loyal husband he is, stuck to my side for the whole day. He only went off once to do a 'black' run. I was so nervous for him, but he did great! There is NO way that I could do a 'black' run, they just make me want to pee my pants just looking at them. You have to be crazy to go down those (sorry Steve, I don't think you are too crazy...hahaha)!!!

It was nice to be outside and spend time with just Steve. We both have been so busy with work, church, and my masters program that we haven't had a day to spend with just us. It was fun to forget about life, relax, flirt, laugh, and talk. Date night is always great, but having a date DAY is awesome.

The day after we went skiing I wasn't so refreshed. I was sore from my shoulders to my toes. It was well worth the pain!
