Living Up the Summer!

This week was a fairly normal week. Steve worked all week and I taught water aerobics, did some scrap-booking, worked on adoption papers, and prepared for our trip to North Carolina next week. We did get to do several fun things this week. We had dinner with several couples from our new ward. It was fun to get to know them. Steve and I also had the opportunity to watch "Toy Story 3". We found this awesome theater that charges half price on week day nights, so we have decided that when we see a movie we will do it on a week night and not on the weekend. We also got to go to the temple this week. We love going and serving. There is such a sweet spirit there. I think the most out of the ordinary that we go to do this week happened yesterday. We went to Water World with a couple from our old ward in Greeley.
It was a blast to see them again and to do something fun! We were all very exhausted from such a high energy day and Steve got fried. His skin NEVER sees the sun and even with three applications of sunscreen he still burned. Minus Steve's sunburn the trip was a total success! We are planning on getting together with them in the next few weeks. We really miss our old friends, but I am still happy and excited that we moved. We are starting to meet some really nice people in our new ward. My new calling as a Laurel and Mia-Maid Advisor is going to be harder than I thought. It has been awhile since I was in Young Women and I have forgotten what is was like. My lesson I taught today did not go as well as I had hoped. Oh well, there is always a next time, and I really think that this calling is going to stretch me. I look back on my old Young Women Advisors and leaders and wished that I had showed them more appreciation. They were all awesome leaders, but being a teenager I don't think I always showed them my gratitude. Steve and I are excited to go to North Carolina and spend time with my family. My sister's baby, Eli, will be turning one next month. I am excited to see him and the rest of my family. July has seemed like a jam packed month, but it all has been fun and rewarding. We are very blessed to have everything that we have. I just hope I can give back some of what the Lord has given me!

Wow the summer is flying by!

I can't believe how busy I still am without a job and without children. We just got back from Bear Lake a few weeks ago from Steve's Family Reunion.
It was a lot of fun! It is so much fun to all get together and just relax and enjoy each other's company. Steve and I went up a day early and camped in a tent on the very south tip of the lake with just the two of us. It was a blast to just have "us" time and to be doing something we both love.

During the reunion we went tubing down the river, water skiing, jet skiing, horseback riding, golfing, and our traditional family softball game. We also got a binder that Virgina (Steve's mom) put together on the family's genealogy. It was neat to read the stories of how Steve's ancestors gave up so much to travel to America and join the church. Steve's great great grandfather helped build the Logan temple! I really admire those early Saints! My mom was a convert to the church so I never had any of those pioneer stories to call my own, so it was fun to be able to adopt some of these stories as part of my own family. I was called as Young Women Camp Assistant a few weeks ago for camp. I just got back on Friday. I am so wiped out! I enjoyed camp but I have to admit I was ready to come home and shower. Today I was just called to be the Mia-maid and Laurel Adviser. I am excited to work with the Young Women. They have such a sweet spirit. I hope I can be a positive leader in all of their lives. I have to admit I am a little nervous, but if I can survive teaching 5th grade I think I will be okay. Steve just started his first actual real day of work on Monday! YEAH!!! He is finally done with training! He loves his job and likes the people he works with. I think this will be a really good job for him. I have missed Steve so much this past week. Being away at Girls' Camp was fun but is really me showed how much I love and miss Steve. I really cannot think of a better man that I could have married! He still makes me laugh everyday.
