A NEW LIFE!

We apologize for having it be so long since we posted anything new, but life has been busy, a good busy! I finished up my last few weeks of teaching 5th grade. I have to admit I was looking forward to summer break, but now that I am in my summer break I really miss my students. The kids I miss the most are the ones that gave me the most trouble; isn’t funny how that works? Steve just started his new job working as an Assistant Manager for Target! He loves it so far and is looking forward to finishing his long training and actually starting his job. He has 5 more weeks of training.
We moved to our new home in Lakewood and we absolutely LOVE it! Steve painted a few red accent walls, we got a new comforter for our bed, so we have a little new and a little old and it already feels like home; even though we have only been here for a week. I think the two things that we really enjoy about our new home are the incredible view of the mountains and the air conditioner. God bless whoever invented air conditioners! It has been ridiculously hot and it is not even June yet! Steve feels at home with the view of the mountains. I feel at home when I am here, but when I step outside of our home I feel a little lost. I feel like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz when she realizes she is not in Kansas anymore. I am use to small towns and a countryside view, but I think I could get use to this as well. Everything you can imagine is close by.
Since I am not working right now I am finding odd and end things to do. I am thinking about teaching swim lessons or tutoring math and reading this summer. I am also thinking about signing up to be a temple worker since the temple is so close by. I want to do all those things, but my main goal this summer is to finish all of our adoption papers! I am excited to finally get to work on them! I have dreamed of nothing else than when we will be blessed with a baby! I know that it will happen in the Lord's time. Although I am “patiently” waiting I have to be actively living life and not just sitting and waiting. I have looked for teaching jobs in the Denver area with no success. Everyone is on a hiring freeze due to the economy, so I have decided that if I don’t have a full time teaching position by August I will substitute and go get my masters degree. I have already registered and been accepted for a master’s program through UNC. It is a hybrid degree and I am very excited for it. It is Early Childhood and Special Education. Most of it is done online, but a few of the courses are not. I am signed up for 12 credit hours starting this fall. We will see what happens. I don’t know what God has in store for us this fall, but I am planning and preparing for everything: having a job, not having a job, going to school, not going to school, being a mother, or not being a mother. Whatever happens I know that I will be happy and so will Steve!
